Home Based ABA

Service Description

Home based ABA is usually done at the comfort of the clients home and the intervention skills or behaviors are generalized to other environments like schools and community. Advantages of Home-Based ABA Flexibility: We schedule services according to your calendar and you do not have to hassle driving to the clinic and waiting around. Environment: Children learn new skills in their natural environment where they feel more comfortable and secure since that is where there are familiar things and people. Family: Home based services engage family members to better understand the best practices of ABA therapy. The family can observe directly during interventions and be engaged as naturally as possible. For example, if the client does not share with a sibling and sharing is part of the target skills, then the sibling can be engaged when teaching sharing. Home based ABA has an advantage that the intervention is done in the natural settings where some of the daily living skills can be targeted. Some of the examples are: - Hygiene and/or personal care - Getting dressed - Brushing your teeth - Washing your hands - Meal preparation - Toy cleanup - Making bed - Loading and unloading the dishwasher
